Connecting the phone adapter is easy and will make using Skype on your home phone easy too. If you’re not currently a Skype user, you can register for your Skype name direct from the device and as soon as the device is configured using the easy install guide, you’ll never have to re-configure it unless you want to change your settings.

By connecting FREETALK Connect•Me to your home phone you’ll be able to make and receive calls from other Skype users for free, along with the ability to make low cost International and mobile calls using a Skype subscription plan or Skype credit. Plus, you do not need to worry, your FREETALK Connect•Me device won’t affect your current landline service at all.

The FREETALK Connect•Me can be configured to automatically know when to use Skype for calls and when to use your standard landline, so for example, you may choose to route all of your international calls through Skype and all of your local calls through your traditional landline. The device will intelligently know the type of number you are dialing and connect using your pre-determined choice of line.

To let you know when Skype is being used on your landline you’ll hear a different dial tone when you make your call.

You don’t have to use automatic call routing on your FREETALK Connect•Me device if you don’t want to, but if you choose to make a call through Skype on your home phone, all you have to do is dial ** before the number you are calling. To override a call from Skype to your landline do the same by prefixing your phone numbers by the (#) key.

FREETALK Connect•Me also allows you to create a speed dial list, making those frequently used numbers quick and easy to dial.
